1/4 sized double basses from the Christopher workshop made in a Busetto shape. (1/4 is violin shape) It has sloping shoulders making it easier to access upper positions. The 300 series basses have a solid Spruce top, laminated maple sides, back and solid maple neck. It comes with German made Rubner machine heads, adjustable bridge, ebony finger board and tail piece.
Christopher Instruments attach great importance to the correct arch of the back and top. Unlike some laminated instruments, Christopher do not use prefabricated plywoods, but press the individual veneer layers into form while gluing them together. Only with this method, can a sufficiently strong arch be reached. They also fit a cross bar in the arched back which provides the instrument with an additional stability and gives the sound more definition.
A good quality Christopher bag, D’Addario strings and a full setup are included. Our most popular student model.
