Gliga Professional Vasile Cello – Montagna 1739 – 4/4 Size

This Gliga Professional Vasile Cello is a faithful recreation of an old master; the 1739 Domenica Montagna (Venice) instrument, ‘Sleeping Beauty’. This shorter, wider version of the standard Stradivari pattern has been handcrafted in the “inner sanctum” of Vasile Gliga’s Romanian workshop in sycamore maple, using wood with outstanding tone that has been naturally dried for many years. The outline of the instrument’s body is deepened and the plates are precisely graduated. Special attention has been given to the deeply etched and well highlighted scroll. All fittings have been manufactured by the Gliga company.

The Raggetti Masters Series Sleeping Beauty Cello is a faithful recreation of an old master; the 1739 Domenico Montagnana (Venice) instrument, ‘Sleeping Beauty’.
The artistry of Raggetti has captured the character and history of some of the finest string instruments ever made in the Raggetti Master’s Series of recreations. Meticulous studies of the originals and iconographies, together with advanced technologies and fine making, have melded the beauty of the original instruments and the construction principles of the Stradivari & Guarneri masters.

StringVision Bow Grip – for Violin, Viola and Cello

The Stringvision Bow Grip for violin, viola and cello is a teaching aid that provides more comfort and support for the bowing hand.

The bow grip’s thumb indent allows curved and comfortable thumb placement, whilst the rubber allows for a better grip. Because of this, less tension can be applied when holding the bow.

It is commonly used by beginners who are struggling to achieve a good bow hold due to discomfort, however it is also often used as anti-fatigue solution for players who suffer from a sore bowing hand due to long practice sessions or rehearsals.

Additionally, this product will protect any bow from wear, and since the bottom corner of the frog is covered by the grip, this will also help to avoid minor nicks to the bouts of the instrument.

One model stretches over violin, viola, or cello bows of all sizes without removing the frog. The height of bow frogs is very consistent, (even on incremental size bows) so one size really does fit all bows.

The FPS Deluxe cello bag has been designed with everyday use in mind to protect your cello against accidental travel damage. The soft and flexible exterior is made from quality 600 denier PVC material and incorporates multiple pockets for accessories, sheet music and bow. The 15mm padding protects against accidental knocks in transit, and the taffeta interior ensures a soft interface with the instrument to avoid scratches.

Like the fabric and foam, all fittings are sturdy to stand up to every day use. The heavy duty zippers are smooth and reliable and the multiple handles allow easy handling of the cello. Comfortable backpack straps are optionally attached with solid clips. The bag even includes a clip-lock neck restraint for extra security in transit.

The Student Plus II is an attractive solid cello, with a spruce top and maple back, neck and sides. Available in multiple fractional sizes, this is an ideal instrument for the beginning or intermediate student. The Student Plus II comes in a complete outfit with a brazilwood bow and cello case included. This particular cello is brand new, but was damaged in transit and repaired in our workshop. It is priced to reflect this.

The included TG cello case has in-built wheels, lightweight construction and is fitted with a tough wearing fabric and a pocket for sheet music.

1/8 “Gliga III Series” Cello with nitro spray finish. This is a school level instrument handcrafted in Romania. Already an excellent, value-for-money European instrument, this particular cello was damaged in transit and has been carefully restored and set-up in our workshop. As such, it is offered at a heavily discounted price. It features a sycamore maple back, neck and sides, a resonance spruce top, ebony fingerboard and inlaid purfling, with nitro varnish finish.
