Scott Cao is listed among the best-known contemporary violin makers in the world. His instruments are currently in the hands of soloists, famous professional players and collectors. For their tonal quality, Scott's instruments are renowned, and are said to not only project a beautiful sound but are also aesthetically superior. With his now vast experience, Scott Cao makes a range of copies of many of the greatest Master violins from the last three centuries. A number of years ago Scott Cao developed great interest in guitar making. After studying the subject in the U.S., Scott teamed up with a leading American guitar maker, applying their vast combined experience, knowledge and talents to produce just three replica models of famous guitars. Thus Scott Cao Guitars was born. Initially housed within Scott's Guangzhou violin Factory, Scott and three of his top specially-trained craftsmen, succeeded in producing instruments of an extremely high calibre, using the best solid timbers available, with Scott's eye for detail. In 2006 Scott secured larger premises outside the violin Factory giving him the ability to expand his range to include models after the styles of Ramirez, Fleta, Torres, Hauser, Hauser cutaway (with more to come) still within the small hands-on workshop environment.
