Double Basses for Sale

Besides making professional instruments we supply fractional basses for children, and instruments for bass players of all ages and styles.

We are happy to spend time sharing our expertise to find to find the best available instrument that suits your body size and budget. Generally, multiple basses are available to suit your budget and you will be able to choose the instrument that you enjoy the sound of and best suits your size and style of music.

Sadly, often basses purchased from Ebay or shops without expertise end up as pieces of furniture in the corner because they are badly setup, difficult to play and poorly suited to the purchasers height and ability. 

Bass works stocks a large range of instruments from Australia, Europe and China. (All the instruments detailed on the website are in stock in our Adelaide workshop unless clearly marked otherwise) Often there are more basses that we haven't had time to list. We don't buy our instruments from a catalogue but rather hand select them from available basses in the warehouse or factory.

The price of each of the basses listed includes a full setup by Peter or Ben McLachlan. Their expertise in the workshop and playing experience result in basses which are set-up to the highest standards, and tailored to the specific preferences and needs of each individual. The most common comment we receive from customers is "how easy the basses are to play!"
